ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Siyani Sahelian (Advanced Action for Adolescent Girls - AłG) project, currently being implemented in the three districts of South Punjab: Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan, aims to tackle gender inequality for disadvantaged out of school adolescent girls (aged 9-19). This programme offers opportunities to highly marginalized adolescent girls who either never enrolled or dropped out to complete primary and post-primary education as well as vocational training for decent work and livelihoods. All beneficiaries are also provided with life skills-based education, teaching them basic skills such as confidence building and health/hygiene practices, as well as tech-enabled learning, incorporating the use of tablets to further classroom learning. Learning is imparted to beneficiaries (20,000+) at the empowerment hubs and is also being replicated in 20-30 partner schools per district.
