Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) or the "Centre of Education and Consciousness" Public Trust, established in 2000, is a civil society organization focused on addressing the profound education crisis of Pakistan through action and policy research, service-delivery and advocacy. ITA has been a strong education champion across Pakistan with field programs covering complex aspects of: Access, Learning, Quality, Evaluating Low-Cost Private Schools, Inclusion, Child Protection, Gender Justice and Education, Tolerance, Citizenship, Health and Hygiene Interventions, and Technical and Vocational Training Programs with government, communities and public and private school systems.

ASER Pakistan Report 2021, the largest annual citizen-led household-based survey, was launched in Islamabad on Thursday, March 10, 2022. For the year 2021, the ASER rural survey assessed 212,105 children 5-16 years of age in Language (Urdu/Sindhi/Pashto), English, and Arithmetic competencies mapped to the Curriculum and Textbooks.

The provincial launches of ASER Pakistan (Rural) Report 2021 were conducted in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab. Moreover, the data collection activity of the ASER Pakistan (Urban) 2021 survey was started in March and is expected to be completed by mid of April.

Pakistan Learning Festival Abbottabad was held on March 12-13, 2022 at COMSATS University Abbottabad Campus, sponsored by the District Government of Abbottabad, Bank of Punjab, Oxford University Press and Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad. Other co-hosts and partners of the festival included Nikhra Abbottabad, Directorate of Youth Affairs, Water and Sanitation Service Abbottabad, Galiyat Development Authority Abbottabad, KITE and Forestry Department.

ITA has partnered with the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) to air Pakistan Literacy Project read alouds on PTV Teleschool. Some beautiful PLP-Room to Read storytelling videos, narrated by Nadia Fazal Jamil, Maisam Abbas and Sadia Sarmad have been aired on PTV TeleSchool. More Read Alouds will be aired in the coming days. Sumbal, Chairman Planning & Development Board; MPA Ms. Uzma Kardar, Chairperson Standing Committee on Gender Mainstreaming; MPA Ms. Talath Fatemeh Naqvi; Mr. Qaiser Rashid, Additional Secretary Budget and Planning, SED, Punjab; Ms. Noorish Sabah, Deputy Secretary Non-Formal and Literacy Department, Punjab; Dr. Fauzia Viqar, Accountability and Inclusion Lead, Sub-National Governance; Ms. Sehr Raza Jafri, Education officer, UNICEF Pakistan; Ms. Saima Anwar, Senior Education Advisor; Ms. Sadaffe Abid, CEO Circle Women; Ms. Fiona Robertson from British Council and Ms. Samia Afridi from SOLF participated in the event.

Important pledges were made for girls' education and women empowerment at the event while short animated films on Life Skills produced by SOC Films in 9 themes and five languages were also launched which will be available as a national public good.

ITA is providing GEEA leaders with avenues to practice their leadership through peer-learning workshops and circles they can lead. GEEA Leaders have undergone an interactive STEM training-for-trainers, following which they will be conducting low-resource
|
|
|
activity-based STEM workshops in their localities to share the wonder of science and encourage young girls to pursue education in STEM fields. Peer-learning models, especially directional peer learning, in communities where GEEA leaders reside can help foster an active culture of education have two-fold benefits: girls in these communities can develop skills which will improve learning gains, and GEEA leaders were provided with a platform to exercise their leadership and dedication to the cause of girls' education in a regular and systematic manner.

Under the Aasman Se Batain program, supported by Malala Fund, ITA is developing an illustrated digital booklet featuring 30 case studies of how access to education has transformed their lives for the better.

LSK students celebrated International Women's Day warmly with their mothers and sisters. They have celebrated Punjab Culture Day with great fervor by wearing cultural dresses while teachers shared culture related information.

LSK weekly Art & Craft session "Fun k Rang Bachon k Sang" is being held smoothly every week. LSK TVET displayed a products stall in Punjab University, Bulleh Shah Packages (BSP) and PLF Abbottabad and got certificate for the best stall in PU.

A delegation from BSP visited LSK campuses and appreciated the dedication and morale of LSK staff. Moreover, STEM activities were organized by the volunteers from LUMS while computer courses are running successfully.

A webinar titled #BreakTheBias: Empowering Girls with Education and Life Skills was also held on the occasion. Ms. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Ms. Nadia Fazal Jamil, Mr. Juan David Baron, Ms. Uzma Kardar, Ms. Sadaffe Abid, Mr. Umair Ali and Ms. Noor us Sabah Ahmad participated in the discussion which was moderated by CEO ITA Ms. Baela Raza Jamil.
