Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) or the “Centre of Education and Consciousness” Public Trust, established in 2000, is a civil society organization focused on addressing the profound education crisis of Pakistan through action and policy research, service-delivery and advocacy. ITA has been a strong education champion across Pakistan with field programs covering complex aspects of: Access, Learning, Quality, Evaluating Low-Cost Private Schools, Inclusion, Child Protection, Gender Justice and Education, Tolerance, Citizenship, Health and Hygiene Interventions, and Technical and Vocational Training Programs with government, communities and public and private school systems.

ASER Pakistan - Annual Status of Education Report

ASER Pakistan launched the Katchi Abadi pilot on July 19, 2022 to gain a more holistic view of the status of education in Pakistan. The pilot is centered around Katchi Abadis or semi-urban settlements, a hitherto unexplored area for education reporting. The districts for this pilot include Peshawar and Hyderabad, where enumerators underwent comprehensive training from the ASER team and conducted the survey pilot in their respective districts.

ITA met Governor Punjab, Pakistan
Idara e Taleem o Aagahi (ITA) launched Mahol Saheliyan - a trilogy of books on Climate Justice with Governor Punjab and Author/ Illustrator Maria Riaz. The Governor Punjab was pleased with the efforts of on climate change by ITA, a much needed area of attention and action through interactive content and stories and congratulated the author Maria Riaz and ITA Leadership on timely publications. He assured support for widespread dissemination of Mahol Saheliyan and its three impactful beautifully illustrated stories Sabz Bagh, Pahaar sa Kaam and Naiya Paar.

While explaining the work of ITA over the years Baela Raza also briefed his excellency that ITA’s Second Chance Program for Adolescent Girls called “Siyani Sahelian” has supported more than 50,000 direct adolescent girl beneficiaries and more than 350,000 indirect beneficiaries funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) and in close collaboration with the School Education Department in South Punjab. Moreover, she also informed His Excellency about Digital Literacy Program (DLP) being active in the region and educating young girls with digital literacy to help them in understanding and generating income through their work. Pakistan Learning Project (PLP) has started different libraries at different locations throughout South Punjab and Five (5) more such learning classes are also in making in Bahawalpur and will start by the end of next month. 

Governor Punjab Mr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman was pleased to see the work of ITA in education sector and admired the continuous work ITA has been doing. He stands with ITA to ensure the smooth and steady flow of education for all and highlighted the importance of ASER PAKISTAN in key findings that help in establishing the details for improvement in education sector.

The program will enable young leaders in digital literacy, business skills and financial inclusion!

Enrollment Drive

Our annual Enrollment drive is continuing in all district schools supported by the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) / Punjab Education Initiatives Management Authority – PEIMA. Staff is conducting community meetings and door to door campaigns to motivate community to get their children enrolled in schools in a timely manner.

An organization which seeks and shares inspiring motivation in K-12 education. Siyani Saheliyan has been viewed over 100 times on HundrED.org platform. PAL Network recently hosted a physical family meeting in Kenya to look back and celebrate individual and collective member achievements. The event brought together over 60 participants from 15 countries.

Pakistan Learning Festival (PLF)

Idara-e-Taleem-o-AagahiActor Saad Qureshi joins Pakistan Learning Festival as a Goodwill Ambassador. We welcome Saad Qureshi on this learning Karavan.

Saad Qureshi says: “I have followed the work of the Pakistan Learning Festival for quite some time and always been impressed by the effective and efficient manner in which the organization promotes modern education and learning in Pakistan,” added Saad. “I believe that a citizen’s right to education is sacrosanct and should never be denied to anyone. Education is the key to our nation’s success and, quite honestly, the cure for all our ills. I am proud of all organizations that support the cause of education in Pakistan and grateful to now be a part of one of them.”

The session included storytelling, drawing and coloring activity as well as game activities for the children! Children participated actively and were happy learning in fun!

Young Author Award 2021-2022 mentoring sessions have started. Kamran Ali mentor for Urdu Category is conducting sessions with winners to further improve their creative writing skills.

Pakistan Literacy Project (PLP)

Pakistan Literacy Project Conducted Summer Camp activities like Read alout, shared Reading, Pair reading and independent reading in 17 schools, library and communities. The Purpose of these activities is to develop habit of reading in children and engage community members and stakeholders.

Life Skills for Kids (LSK)

LSK formal schools were closed due to summer vacations in July but ITA adopted the strategy of continuing summer camps in schools. Summer camps are working actively at community learning places where Life skills activities are being focused to practice regularly. As a part of digital learning in early ages, students are editing their weekly videos by themselves in their computer classes
