ITA launches awareness campaign
'Corona Saviours'

Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi
Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) took early action to reach its learners beneficiaries in remote areas of Pakistan before the lockdown. Data was collected about household cell phones, physical locations of villages and urban areas – and a call was issued to who can volunteer as a barefoot teacher in localities to support the learning process during the Covid-19 emergency. This strategy produced some great results so that Learning Never Stops in ITA program locations in the country. This spurred ITA’s training and digital teams to begin consolidating materials available for new learning materials to be produced.

The life skills teams huddled a week prior to the lockdown too to come up with an overall campaign called “Corona Saviours/Muhafiz” to spread awareness about prevention against Covid-19 for safe behaviors and mobilized children and adults for supporting this effort like multiplier citizen activists. http://itacec.org/CoronaSaviours

A call was given to ILM Association, where ITA serves on the board of the digital innovation industry for education solutions in Pakistan, to rise to the urgency of the emergency and come together with renewed vigor and offer government and the citizens digital learning solutions as a free donation making them into a public good. All 12 partners agreed and the blog was made public.

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training set up the Teleschool channel that airs seven days a week seeking learning products from five ILM Association partners, including ITA, Sabaq Muse, Sabaq Foundation, Knowledge Platform and TeleTaleem, and acknowledged each one as well. ITA thus offered the learning solutions open and wide during April, 2020.
