Child Rights Activists launch campaign to End Child Domestic Labour in Pakistan |
Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) launched an alliance-based national campaign with many partners to end Child Domestic Labour (CDL) in Pakistan. The World Day against Child Labour on June 12, 2020 gave a rallying call by child rights activists to lead the National Movement for ending CDL in Pakistan through Child Champions. As #JusticeForZohraShah became symbolic for the resolve that CDL has to end in Pakistan, this National Campaign is a joint effort for child protection, development and gender rights as promised by Prime Minister Imran Khan. At least 30 child champions have joined hands working in sub-committees of advocacy/letters, legislation, posters/slogans and social media/media. |
The campaign includes raising voice against CDL, capacity building of child champions and enabling their role in ending CDL in Pakistan, raising awareness about fundamental rights of children and related laws, and demanding the government, parliamentarians, society and families to end CDL. It's time to give Agency to Children to take their cause forward and become their own voice of protection!
Let promises not be in vain! No more violations of Zohra Shahs in Pakistan! #EndCDL

Child Champions share their responses to #EndCDL in the form of drawings and posters. Raise your voice against this social evil and become a child champion by using the hashtag #EndCDL. |
|
Child Champions become the voice of children engaged in domestic labour. They want to work for a society where children are guaranteed their fundamental rights, where they all are treated equally and are protected from the filthy practice of Child Domestic Labour. |
