May 22, 2024
Islamabad, Pakistan – May 22, 2024 – As part of a groundbreaking collaboration for breaking traditional learning barriers, Knowledge Platform, Pakistan’s leading education technology company, Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA), a prominent non-profit education organization, and Silver Oaks International Education Services (SOIES), a leading educational service provider, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop the groundbreaking educational equity-focused program “KONYA: Lessons for heart and mind”.
KONYA empowers out-of-school and underprivileged children through engaging digital and physical games and competitions. This innovative program unites the expertise and resources of three organizations to equip children with the foundational literacy, numeracy, global citizenship, and critical 21st-century skills they need to thrive, thus paving the way for a brighter tomorrow.
Mahboob Mahmood, Knowledge Platform’s founder, notes: “We are thrilled to partner with Idara-e-Taleem-o-Agahi and Silver Oaks to gamify learning for out-of-school and underprivileged children and youth. We know that KONYA cannot fully solve our educational challenges, but interactive, fun, incremental learning can grow very quickly.”
Baela Jamil, CEO, Idara-e-Taleem-o-Agahi (ITA) notes: “We are delighted to launch KONYA. We have had nationwide success in engaging children and youth through play-based learning, active reading programs and the Pakistan Learning Festivals. Using learning games in a systematic way will nudge out-of-school children and youth towards education. Our partnership with the iconic Knowledge Platform, an education technology gamification leader and Silver Oaks International Education Services (SOIES) will reach millions in need”
Hassan Sattar, MD & CEO, SOIES, notes: “The combination of a youth bulge and inequitable access to quality education would prove a combustible mix and perpetuate the vicious cycle of poverty and inequality in Pakistan. Our intent, through KONYA, is to recognize that all children deserve equal chances to participate in a forward-looking and inclusive approach to receiving learning outcomes. We believe that our most valuable contribution to the community and our world is through developing an enabled generation for effective global citizenship”.
