Meet 9-year old Kohnain Altaf from Moza Channa District Rahim Yar Khan
At the age of 7, both her parents passed away leaving Kohnain with her aunt, the only guardian at that time. With the desire to enroll in school growing with each passing day, the dream shattered when her aunt refused believing that Kohnain was underage.
Not realizing that the Article 25A Right to Education according to the Constitution of Pakistan makes it obligatory for children above the age of 5 to receive education till (at least) the age of 16.
Amidst the darkness, there was finally a ray of hope when with the efforts of Siyani Sahelian (a second chance girls education program by Idara e Taleem o Aagahi ITA, Kohnain enrolled in the Functional Literacy strand (a three month course for never enrolled) at Government Girls Elementary School Moza Channa, Rahim Yar Khan (MS code 31330139)
