Our safeguarding commitment at Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi is dedicated to safeguarding both children and adults from any form of harm and abuse, whether intentional or unintentional, caused by staff members, partners, or any other representatives associated with the organization. We uphold the principles of Preventing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) to proactively prevent and address instances of sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment within our organization and the communities we serve. We prioritize creating a safe and secure environment for all individuals involved in our activities, ensuring their well-being and protection at all times.
At Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi, we are committed to safeguarding both children and adults through the following measures, including the implementation of Preventing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) protocols to ensure the protection and well-being of all individuals involved in our activities.
1 - Engaging with children and adults in our communities, prioritizing their participation and feedback in all our programming and advocacy initiatives.
2 - Educating children, families, communities, and staff about the expected standards of behavior and how to voice concerns effectively.
3 - Actively promoting and maintaining clear, accessible, and anonymous reporting channels, including provisions for individuals with disabilities.
4 - Conducting thorough criminal records checks and referencing for all staff members during the recruitment process.
5 - Providing comprehensive safeguarding induction and refresher training for staff members, conducted at least once in a year.
6 - Ensuring all representatives understand the risks of child and adult abuse, their safeguarding responsibilities, and the obligation to report any concerns.
7 - Conducting rigorous risk assessments for all activities and implementing robust mitigation plans.
8 - Implementing measures to prevent opportunities for staff, volunteers, interns, consultants, and partners to abuse children, including policies to prevent children from being left alone with staff members.
9 - Taking all concerns seriously and responding promptly.
10 - Learning from all incidents and ensuring that lessons learned are effectively implemented for continuous improvement in our safeguarding practices.
ITA believes that all children under the age of 18 have a right to protection from abuse or exploitation.

How to report a Safeguarding concern:
Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi upholds a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of abuse or misconduct, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), harassment, intimidation, and bullying by our staff. We take all concerns seriously and encourage individuals to report any safeguarding concerns promptly.
If you have a safeguarding concern related to Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi, our staff, members, or representatives, or if you have a safeguarding concern related to a child or an adult, please inform us immediately and report it.
You can report your concerns by contacting us at complaints@itacec.org. Your report will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, and appropriate action will be taken to address the issue promptly.
