Position Purpose:
The Coach Mentor will work closely with schools, government stakeholders, teachers, students, parents, and local communities to support the successful implementation of the Pakistan Literacy Project. The role involves establishing school libraries, conducting teacher and student sessions, mobilizing communities, and contributing to project reporting and implementation.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) from a recognized university.
Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience in social mobilization, library management, teacher training, or education projects.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong project coordination and management skills.
- Sound knowledge of library management and information sciences.
- Ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and communities.
- Experience in liaising with government departments and district education authorities.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in English, Urdu, and the local language.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email communication.
- Ability to manage databases and prepare analytical reports.
- Leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage field-level challenges and work collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the school selection process for library establishment.
- Implement project activities in assigned schools under the guidance of the Programme Manager.
- Coordinate with school administrations, district education authorities, and other government stakeholders.
- Establish and operationalize libraries in selected government schools.
- Conduct community mobilization sessions to encourage active participation of parents and community members.
- Deliver library management training and library period sessions for teachers.
- Conduct storytelling sessions and reading activities for students.
- Coordinate the provision of library furniture and books with the Administration & Logistics team.
- Support the organization of library launch events with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and project SOPs.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual project reports.
- Participate in team meetings and provide regular project updates.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management to support successful project implementation.
