Mr and Mrs. Farooq Jamil initiated Mian Muhammad Jamil & Begum Lal Shah Bukhari Scholarships in 2006, for post-secondary level students for the continuation of their education. Every year since 2006, the number of scholarship awards has been on the rise, extended to girls and boys enrolled in government schools in the districts of Muzaffargarh, Lahore and Chiniot. The scholarships are supposed to continue for professional level degrees based on merit and performance till the end of the year 2016.
Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) and Farooq Jamil Scholarship, together, aim to elevate the socio-economic position of needy and deserving students by providing access to quality education, through needs-based scholarships. ITA duly acknowledged the students who get high marks in exams but they not are able to pay high charges to get the higher education.
Therefore, on Feb 14, 2015, ITA arranged the ceremony for distributing the scholarship to all the students in the district of Lahore. 17 Participants, who received the scholarship, shared their gratitude for the organization that helped them throughout their academic years. Students have shown their trust on this program and appreciated the efforts of ITA. Welcome remarks were given by Mr. Ihsan Qazi. In addition, Deputy Director Programmes, Mr.Imtiaz Ahmed Nizami really appreciated the students as well as their parents in putting up efforts for educating their daughters up to higher levels. All the participants were asked to share their views regarding the program and their academic profiles. It was an honor for Idara-e-Taleem-o-Agahi to help students who are brilliant in studies but cannot afford to pursue education.
